Exciting!

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Well I’m still freelancing, juggling multiple jobs whilst traveling in and out of London for interviews and such… whew! Tiring stuff!

I’ve just started a rather impressive job which I definitely think will do me favours in the job-getting area, but as luck would have it the company I’m working for has me under contract to not say a word about what it entails, and it wont be out and around to talk about until October/November! How typical is that?!

I guess the portfolio excitement will just have to wait until later in the year, I will keep you updated (of course) with how its going. Hmm, I should give this project some kind of code name? “Project Bumblebee” that’ll do.

Paris Hilton

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

I think Paris Hilton is fascinating… but in a Britney Spears downfall kind of way. Its obvious, and tasteless but like a car crash you can’t look away.

Using a selection of fashion photographs I pieced together the information and created a brief mini-interview. (Mainly because the rest of the interview was promoting the film she featured in called House of Wax - in my opinion adding information like that into a portfolio piece will make my work look dated)

I actually love the pictures in this set they have a very American Apparel meets high fashion quality to them, which I am a big fan of!
I think this should probably be the end of making magazine interview layouts for a while as I’m building up quite a collection, and think I could really do with some variety. Watch this space for my next step!

Marilyn Magazine Spread

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

In response to the recreation of “The Last Sitting” a series of images taken of Marilyn Monroe by esteemed photographer Bert Stern, which were arguably the most famous images ever captured of America’s most famous actress as six weeks after she posed, Monroe was found dead of an apparent barbiturate overdose, have inspired me to create a few pages of a magazine spread with the her last interview, originally published in Life Magazine as the content.

It is in need of a little tweaking, but here is what I’ve done so far… (oh, and it’s nsfw!)
