I found these Penguin Classic new pattern-inspired book covers over at DesignSponge Coralie Bickford-Smith designed this 10 book-series and included a beautiful matte foil design on each piece.

You can buy all 10 in the series from Waterstones. They will make a great xmas present for the book worm in your life!

HOORAY!!

I’m so pleased Obama won. He is so inspiring… I’ve been following the election since around March this year, and I’ve always been rooting for him.

I have to say that I’m not keen on Joe Biden but I ultimately agree with everything that Obama has said and done, so I’m willing to over look him ^_- Health care for all, pulling the troops out of Iraq and the “spread the wealth” tax initiative to name a few. ALL great ideas.

I agree with it so strongly that I honestly can’t think of a good reason why, in this day and age, someone would vote for John McCain. Because quite honestly his policies suck, I find him to be a very angry old man intent on war and he has what I perceive to be a “me” attitude.

Also people can argue that they are both as bad as each other, we just don’t know it yet. That they will both lie to get elected and we just don’t know them. But how well do we ever know a politician? If we are always so suspicious of the candidates, how would we ever be able to vote?

Apple Laptop Promotional Video

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I finally got my mitts on an embeddable version of the new Apple laptop video! (I avoid YouTube’s ugly video player like the plague) It details how the new line of laptops are put together and the lengths that Apple have gone to in order to make the process more economical.

The video also contains the Apple design god also known by the name Johnathan Ive. The man responsible for such design feats as the iPod and the beautiful iMac. For curiosities sake, see his rather impressive bio here

My Poladroid romance

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

The brain box over at Geenius knows that I love the somewhat crappy quality of Polaroid images and so pointed me in the direction of the Poladroid image maker.

It’s super easy to use, drag and drop your images into the program to edit them.

It’s sad that Polaroid cameras just aren’t very economical. Working out at £1.50 a photo and goodluck finding black and white film, because goodness knows I’ve scoured Ebay enough times to know it’s an impossible feat.

I do think that there is still something so great about the polaroid camera, capture the moment right then and there, and have an instant souvenir… rather than having a ton of images that sit in your computer forever.

“I remember your middle name the colour of your eyes and the story of how your parents met”

I’ve ffffound some images recently, that are nothing more than just artsy images so excuse the lack of text over the last few days, I just wanted to share them
